Information for Churches Hosting Traveling Day Camp

We value the partnerships we have with churches like yours. Those partnerships enable us to provide unique programs like Traveling Day Camp and Challenge to Change. As information regarding COVID-19 has changed, and the virus itself has become better understood, it has become clear that we simply can’t keep our campers, staff, and volunteers as safe as we’d like.

For this reason, Cedarkirk’s staff and Board of Directors have made the difficult decision to suspend all Traveling Day Camp programs and residential summer camp programs for the summer of 2020.

We are disappointed that we won’t be carrying out meaningful, faith-based day camps at your church. We will miss working alongside your volunteers and getting to know the unique culture of your congregation. We will miss the laughter… and the silliness… and Water Days! Most of all we will miss getting to do good work in Christ’s name in partnership with your church.

While we must cancel your summer program for 2020, we are already planning for next summer – our fiftieth anniversary year. In light of the unusual climate we find ourselves operating in, we will allow you to roll your deposit forward and secure your 2021 session of Traveling Day Camp now. One of our staff will be reaching out to you to see what dates you’d like!

We are praying for you and your congregation, and know that you are praying for our ministry, too. These are challenging times, but we will overcome it together, with God’s perfect wisdom guiding us.

We can’t wait to work with you again soon.

Peace,
The Cedarkirk Staff

Our cancellation policy is below. Please refer to it as you make plans in light of our program suspensions.

  • Reschedule of event reservations: TDC or C2C groups may transfer their non-refundable deposit to a program reservation for the following summer with no penalty.
  • Site Closure: Events affected by a closure or suspension of Cedarkirk’s summer programming may either reschedule their event, donate their deposit, or request a refund of the deposit.
  • Availability: All event transfers are subject to availability. If an event transfer is not possible due to lack of availability, the deposit may be donated to Cedarkirk or refunded.
  • **Please know that Cedarkirk’s fees and cancellation policy support and sustain Cedarkirk’s year-round ministry, particularly during this difficult time.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with your church and hope to continue providing a faith-forming summer program for your children, youth, and volunteers in the future.
