SUMMARY:Writing Toward Wholeness
DESCRIPTION:Writing as a path to memory\, meaning\, and faith. \nJanuary 30- February 1\, 2026\nStep away from the busyness of life and into a peaceful\, reflective space where creativity and faith intersect. Writing Toward Wholeness is a soul-nourishing retreat led by the Rev. Dr. Debbie Bronkema\, designed to guide you gently into the practice of creative writing as a spiritual discipline. \nWhether you’ve been journaling for years or have never written a word\, this retreat offers a warm\, welcoming space for you to explore your story\, connect more deeply with God\, and be inspired by the journeys of others. \n\n\n\n\nRetreat Leadership\nRev. Dr. Debbie Bronkema\n\n\nDebbie brings years of pastoral and retreat leadership experience to her work\, with a Doctor of Ministry in Creative Writing as a Spiritual Practice from Columbia Theological Seminary. In addition\, she is a published author\, retreat facilitator\, and founder of connect.faith\, a worshipping community at the intersection of creativity\, spirituality\, and justice. \nDebbie has a connection with Cedarkirk as she and her husband John served as co-executive directors in the mid 2000s and has come back to facilitate these writing retreats for over 10 years. Participants feel her passion for helping them uncover the sacred in their own stories. \n\n\n\nDETAILS –\nArrival: Retreat check-in will take place between 10:00a and 11:00a on Jan. 30. [Lunch will follow check-in.]\nDeparture: Retreat concludes following lunch on February 1 (about 1:30p).\nMeals: Friday lunch and dinner; Saturday breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner; Sunday breakfast\, lunch. \nLODGING\nParticipants will be housed in Cedarkirk’s Retreat House\, linens are provided. If you have special needs regarding your housing or accessibility\, please reach out to Mark Orendorf after you register (mark@cedarkirk.org). \nCOST\nAir-conditioned Lodging: $300 per person for program\, lodging\, and meals\nTampa Airport Shuttle $40 per trip \nTO REGISTER\nVisit our ONLINE REGISTRATION portal to fill out details\, provide any food allergies or dietary restrictions\, and pay for the retreat.
