Get ready to celebrate Christmas at your home-away-from-home! You don’t have to wait until summer to see your counselors and friends. You don’t have to wait until summer to do all of your favorite camp activities. The Christmas Retreat brings you a little bit of summer camp in the winter. (We can’t promise you snow, but it will be cooler than it is in the summer – and you might even need a jacket!) We’ll talk about what the birth of Christ means for us today, eat lots of holiday treats, and enjoy the company of friends, new and old, in this beautiful place.
DETAILS
Ages: This retreat is open to all campers currently in 1st-12th grades.
Groups: Campers will be housed in small units with other campers of similar age and supervised by a counselor. Two of those units (two counselors together with the campers in their room/cabin) make up a family group for the weekend.
Supervision: Counselors from previous summers will shepherd our campers through the weekend as they build relationships, explore their faith and the Christmas story, and take part in camp activities with a holiday twist. (All staff have been through extensive training and undergone a Level II background screening through DCF and FDLE, as well as certification in First Aid and CPR. ACTIVITIES
Campers will take part in most of Cedarkirk’s activities (e.g. zip line, climbing wall, archery, games, Bible study, gaga ball, worship, campfire, line dance). We usually do not do any water activities during the Christmas Retreat due to the likelihood of cold temperatures, though we may look for shark’s teeth in the river if the air is warm enough.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Check-In: All campers should arrive and sign in between 5:30-6:30pm on Friday, December 20th. (Dinner will be served to all campers at 7:00p.)
Pick-Up: All campers will picked up and signed out at 2:00pm on Sunday the 22nd.
COST
$185 per camper | includes lodging, meals (Friday dinner through Sunday lunch), snacks, Christmas Retreat program.
*Sibling Discount: our registration software will automatically provide a $25 discount per sibling when you register
WHAT TO BRING
Campers should pack comfortable weather-appropriate clothes they don’t mind getting a little dirty as well as toiletries, linens or a sleeping bag, and any medications they regularly take. Print the Christmas Retreat Packing List here.
